Fantastic fungi

Three days of rain over Christmas, followed by hot, sunny weather, has provided perfect conditions for mushrooms, toadstools and other fungi. I found this odd looking one near the pond. I particularly like its scaly texture.

Amazing maze

I was fascinated by the strong lines of this maze on a recent visit to Cockington Green, a tourist attraction in Canberra.

365. Sheep skull

This brings my 365 Project to an end. It took me more than a year to complete because I was unable to take photos for a few months. I enjoyed the challenge but am glad it is finished. I will continue to take photos and post them on my blog, although probably not every day.

357. Clouds

I love the patterns made by clouds in the sky. I'd like to know the names of the different types of cloud.

328. Lichen

Having grown up in a very dry climate, I'm not very familiar with lichen but I like the interesting patterns that form in it.

327. Left behind

This hat seems to have been left behind by someone playing at the playground. I like the contrast between the red hat and the blue bench.

326. Riding shotgun

These cygnets are only a couple of days old. I would have liked to get closer but Papa Swan was hovering nearby and I didn't want to incur his displeasure.

325. Golden leaves

Although we're well into winter, these leaves are still clinging to the tree. They're a dull brown colour but look golden in the setting sun.
