61. Gum blossoms

I drove to the top of Willans Hill to look out over Wagga Wagga and found a stand of gum trees with these strange flowers. However, it was difficult to get a good photo. I had to get the right angle to get the flower in focus without leaves getting in the way.

60. Rocks

On the way to Wagga Wagga, I stopped just past Jugiong to photograph this interesting rock formation. I like the contrast of the craggy grey rock against the bright blue sky.

59. Glassware

I took these glass things from my mother's house just before Vinnie's came to remove the remaining furniture and bric-a-brac. They hold childhood memories for me and I couldn't bear to let them go. The limes came from my tree.

58. Tree silhouette

Yes, another photo of winter trees silhouetted against the sky. I didn't take many photos today and just snapped this one as the light was fading because I like the look of bare branches against the sky. And it turned out to be the best of today's photos (there wasn't much competition). I particularly like the pink in the sky.

55. The green, green grass of home

We had a good rainfall (about 25mm) last weekend and green stuff is popping up everywhere, including our front yard, which I hope will be a garden one day.

54. Growing up

The cygnets have grown a lot since I last saw them, even though it wasn't very long ago.

52. Cows in the meadow

Lots of grass has sprouted up around Wagga Wagga following recent rain and these black and white cows looked great against the green grass and blue sky. A scene of bucolic charm.

49. Cracked mosaic

This mosaic wall forms the front fence of an interesting house with a colourful past. The house (I think it was in Fitzroy) was previously an artists' colony and, before that, a brothel.

48. Dan's front fence

I spent the weekend with my son, Dan, who lives in an old house in Carlton. This photo shows the iron railing at the front of the house.

39. Foggy morning

The area was blanketed in a thick fog this morning and about 2 degrees at 9am when I was taking photographs. My fingers almost froze.

37. Raindrops on rose

I'm amazed that the roses are still flowering in July (when do we prune them if they keep flowering?) but they enjoyed today's rainfall (13mm mid-afternoon and still raining).

36. Sunrise

I've published a few photos of sky and clouds lately but this one commemorates the fact that I was up before the sun :)

34. But where's the rain?

We've had lots of cold, windy, cloudy weather lately but very little rain.

33. Windy day

I didn't take many photos today and wasn't happy with any of them, so instead I'm posting this photo I took on Tuesday, when I ventured out despite the bitterly cold wind.
