Okay, my mother doesn't actually have an attic, but these items came from her home when she moved into a hostel recently.
This is the first photo in my project, inspired by my son, to take and post one photo every day for a year.

a great photo and brings back so many memories of my mother's "sewing room"--a curtained off part of our rather large laundry in Brisbane where she kept her machine--first a treadle and later a Singer electric with the knee bar control.
