It was a surprise to see a familiar bottlebrush in the unfamiliar surroundings of Sharm El Sheik. The plants were probably chosen for their ability to tolerate the hot, dry conditions of the Sinai region.

Sharm El Sheik is a resort area at the point of the Sinai Peninsula jutting into the Red Sea.
